Every day girls around the world find themselves in the midst of a water and sanitation crisis. Because of inadequate sanitation, they are forced to miss school during their periods.

Last year, Sweden – the first self-declared “feminist government” – pledged to provide 60 million people with improved sanitation. That same year, the Netherlands promised to help them by providing 30 million people with clean toilets and 50 million people with clean water. Both countries promised to deliver these commitments by 2030, but neither country has even started.

As Global Citizens we need to make sure Sweden and the Netherlands stick to their word by making real their commitments to water and sanitation.

Sign the petitions to call on Sweden and the Netherlands to help girls and women complete their schooling by following through on their 2015 water and sanitation commitments, and to protect their  contributions to international aid.
